This is an international motorsport event, if you are looking to crash your way to the front this isn't the race for you! These karts are fast and motorsport can be dangerous, all drivers have to sign on at the event and attend a drivers briefing before taking to the circuit. While on track drivers are expected to obey racing rules and marshals instructions. Failure to adhere to the rules will result in penalties for your team!
All drivers must wear a race suit, helmet and gloves. Helmets must be a motorcycle full face design or better. Race suits and helmets are available to rent at the circuit for €5 with a €50 deposit. Gloves are available too but we recommend competitors source their own, a pair of light workmans gloves would be suitable. Racing shoes are not needed, a pair of runners is acceptable.
The only part you can change is the steering wheel, but the original boss must be retained. Stickers may be stuck to the karts on the Bigfoot (front fairing) only – only professionally made stickers or vinyl stickers are allowed. Carpet tape/gaffa tape etc. is not permitted to be stuck on the bigfoot at any time. If you really want to go all out you can design a sticker kit and order a Bigfoot panel with it already fitted from BIZ karts:
The karts with driver must weigh no less than 235kg at any point during the race and will be weighed every time they enter the pit area. This means a driver must weigh 83kg to make minimum weight. If a driver is under this lead ballast may be added to the kart, either on weight posts on the kart or attached to a seat insert. Teams are responsible for their own lead, lead for the weight posts can be made to the specifications in the race guide pdf or ordered in advance from Teesside.
